On May 7, 2020, German news outlet Bild Zeitung reported on the Corona Protection Point and its installation at the Elisabeth-von-Thadden Gymnasium:
Heidelberg – This pilot project of the Elisabeth-von-Thadden-Gymnasium should be at every school!
The approximately 200 students of the 11th and 12th grades were in for a surprise when they returned back to school – the grammer school now has two disinfection robots! The devices are located at the entrance and exit of the school and are there to enforce the rules of hygiene.
School principal Martin Döpp (59) explains: “The screen is operated by hand gestures in the air, thus enabling interaction without touching. A virtual doctor explains how to disinfect the hands properly and encourages the pupils to participate. In addition, there are several fields that can be selected to learn more about the virus”.
By the way: A disinfection machine will also be installed in Heidelberg City Hall on Wednesday.Alle Nachrichten
